How to Take Off Protective Film?

To remove protective film, start by finding a loose edge or corner and gently lift it with a plastic scraper or edge tool. Presto Tape’s protective films are designed to adhere securely during use and remove cleanly.

Once you have the edge started, pull the film back at a steady, controlled angle and roll it into itself as you remove it. This helps keep dirt and debris contained and makes disposal easier. After the film is removed, wipe the surface clean with a soft, lint-free or microfiber cloth so the material is ready for final use, finishing, or installation. On surfaces such as windows, panels, floors, and other finished materials, a careful removal process helps preserve the clean appearance the protective film was meant to protect in the first place.

For best results with clean removal, peel the film back slowly and evenly instead of pulling it off too fast. Make sure the surface is cool to the touch and avoid removal in direct sunlight. Extended exposure to hot conditions can make the adhesive grow, we do not reccomend storing in direct sunlight without testing.
